There's not a bad thing on this menu - it all has a ton of flavor! The little 6" chorizo burritos I'd label as the best I've ever had - but lately I've been getting the huevos rancheros, it might be my new favorite!

Red Kitchen KC – Downtown Overland Park Right by the farmers market, tucked into a row of restaurants. After a hot yoga session on a cool but sunny Saturday, this was my brunch stop. What I ordered: Breakfast Burrito (6”) – I chose chorizo, but could barely make it out in the filling. The tortilla was grilled perfectly crisp, and the salsa inside was a smart move with the scrambled eggs and potatoes. Flavor was solid, but it’s small and not very filling. I’ll try the 10” next time, but the $12–$15 price point gives me pause. Would also love an extra salsa cup (75¢ upcharge). Huevos Divorciados – Two fried eggs on corn tortillas with refried beans, split by tangy red and green salsas—perfect for those of us who can’t choose. Finished with queso fresco, cilantro, and onion. The crusty bolillo bread was outstanding, but at $17, one slice felt skimpy. Two pieces (one for each egg and sauce) would have been more appropriate. Coffee: Mexican fair trade from Maps Roasters—solid, but not memorable. The only item that felt priced fairly. The vibe: Ordering is through kiosks, but staff were kind and helpful. Inside seating is limited but cozy, with a few sunny patio spots if you can handle the glare. The only knock: Prices are high for the portions. Food is excellent (5/5 for taste), but overall it’s a 4/5 because value is the sticking point.

Probably the best Chilaquiles I’ve ever had! I’m originally from socal and have had enough for that to actually mean something. The tacos were large and flavor filled probably the best marinated Al Pastor I’ve encountered! ( though I prefer the small street tacos with just onions and cilantro, these things were bomb topped with amazing guacamole and pico oozing flavor. Will absolutely be back again! Don’t pass up a regular cup of coffee they are made to order and taste absolutely wonderful! Full of crema!!

Got the Lombardi burrito and it was delicious! Most breakfast burritos have dry eggs and potatoes but not this place! Eggs were still moist, potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the steak were nicely seasoned and juicy! Definitely in my top 3 breakfast burrito places!

My friend and I had lunch here on 7.23.25, and we love it! Alejandra, the owner, was very helpful in placing my order. I explained that I am celiac and wanted to know if the chips were fried in a dedicated fryer. She verified that they were fried in a small, separate fryer just for the tortilla chips. Score! I ordered the Chilaquiles and they are SPICY HOT! (In all fairness, she did warn me, and she was not kidding.) They were delicious and I did not get sick. I did take tums for the spice. LOL I felt so comfortable with how she explained her protocols for avoiding cross contamination. I think she said she could alter some of the things they were not marked GF, but not totally sure. I also want to add that she came out while we were eating and visited with us. She is a DELIGHT! I got the 411 on how she named the restaurant and all sorts of things. She wants people to know that her food is 100% authentic Mexican food. They are her recipes she brought with her. Since my friend and I were there visiting a while, she brought out two versions of flan for us to try that her mother made. It’s not on her menu, but if it was, I would buy it! Things you need to know before you go: look for the pink/red flowers in front of her restaurant. Inside seats 48, but there is also seating outside. It’s just north of The Peanut. Also, they are not open past 2 pm and closed on Tuesdays.

This hidden gem is run by an incredible woman who pours heart and soul into every dish. Her tamales are easily some of the best in Kansas City — flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and made with obvious care. You can taste the love in every bite. Supporting this small, locally owned spot is a no-brainer. Highly recommend!

Chorizo breakfast burrito was outstanding. Some reviews mentioned slow service but we were served quickly and efficiently. It’s a cozy place with table and bar-style seating. Worth trying!
